Terms of use

The ground rules for using RatedVoices

Plain-English rules for using RatedVoices — what you can post, what we promise, and what we can't.

Who we are

RatedVoices is a consumer review community run as an independent site. When we say "we" or "us", that's who we mean. When we say "you", we mean you — the person reading, browsing, or sharing a review.

By using the site, you're agreeing to these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please stop using the site and let us know at hello@ratedvoices.com. We'd rather hear from you than lose you.

Your account

You can browse without an account. To share your voice, you'll need to sign up with a real email you can access. Keep your password to yourself and let us know if someone else gets in.

  • One person, one account. No bots, no sockpuppets.
  • You're 16 or older.
  • You're responsible for anything posted from your account.

Your reviews stay yours

You own what you write. By posting a review, photo, or reply on RatedVoices, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to show it on the site, in search results, and in anything we publish about the community. That licence lasts as long as the review is up.

Delete a review and the licence ends with it, except for copies search engines may have already cached.

What you can't post

Honest reviews are the whole point. A few things are off the table.

  • Reviews you were paid to write, or reviews of your own business.
  • Personal info about staff — names, home addresses, phone numbers.
  • Threats, slurs, or anything targeting someone's identity.
  • Content you don't have the right to share.
  • Spam, affiliate links, or anything that looks like advertising.

If you're the business

You can respond to reviews on your page once you claim it. Keep it respectful — the community is watching. You can flag a review you believe breaks our guidelines and we'll take a look, but you can't demand we remove honest criticism just because it stings.

We don't sell placements and we don't take payment to move a brand up the list. That stays true for every business, including yours.

The site as-is

We work hard to keep RatedVoices accurate and online, but we can't promise it's perfect or always available. Reviews are the opinions of real customers, not statements from us. Use your own judgement before you buy, book, or sign anything.

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses that come from relying on a review or from the site being down.

Takedowns and legal requests

If you think something on the site breaks the law — copyright, defamation, privacy — email hello@ratedvoices.com with the link, what the problem is, and how to reach you. We read every message and reply within a few working days.

We respond to valid legal requests from law enforcement, but we push back on anything that looks like a fishing trip against an honest reviewer.

Changes to these terms

We'll update this page when we need to — new features, new laws, clearer wording. Big changes get a note on the homepage and an email to signed-in members. The date below tells you when we last touched it.

Last updated: October 2026.
